Transportation is offered for this tour from any location across Mauritius. Due to the location of this tour, fair pay for our guides, vehicle capacity, and fuel-surcharges we price this service separately. If you would like us to provide pick-up and drop-off services for your experience, we ask that you add the appropriate transportation selection for the number of people in your party, and specify in your booking the location where you would like us to meet you. Our vehicles can carry up to 4 passengers. For example, if you are a party of 8 travellers staying in the south of Mauritius, please select 2x South Island Transportation.
Private & Shared Groups
We offer both private and group experiences for this tour…
Booking a private experience for any number of travellers up to 14 implies you and your party gets private access to the tour and guides.
Booking a shared group experience allows booking for up to 2 travellers to join a group of up to 14 other travellers with whom you share the adventure.
If you would like to book a private party of more than 14 travellers, please contact us so we can work with you to accommodate this adventure!
Please Note
Inform us if you have any health restrictions that will limit mobility or require special assistance so we can best help you. On this tour, you will encounter various terrains, including elevations. It’s important to have good mobility to navigate these challenges safely. Here are a few tips:
Wear Proper Footwear: Sturdy hiking shoes or trail running shoes with good traction are essential for stability on rocky surfaces and elevations.
Pace Yourself: Take breaks as needed, especially on steep sections, to avoid overexertion.
Communicate Any Concerns: If you feel uncomfortable or need assistance, don’t hesitate to let your know.
If you are bringing a child younger than 2 years old, please plan to bring a baby carrier and/or a backpack to ensure their safety and comfort throughout the tour.

Some History
Red Roof Church - The Unlucky cape
Cap Malheureux (The Unlucky Cape) is a historical point that marks the landing of the British onto the island in 1810, to attack the French. The French who occupied the island then, from 1710 to 1810, named it the Unlucky Cape after the British surprised them by attacking the north of the island instead of the island’s harbour in Mahébourg and took possession of the island.
Port Louis Bazaar
Port Louis Bazaar (Central Market) is a shopping and street food hub in the heart of Port Louis, Mauritius’ capital city and it offers an authentic taste of local life in Mauritius. This is where the locals shop. Stalls are piled high with tropical fruits, vegetables and souvenirs and you’ll hear the sound of stallholders echoing around the hall as they shout prices and vie for your attention.

I can’t thank the team at Mauritius Adventours enough for giving me such unforgettable experiences on my first visit to Mauritius. I had such a fantastic time visiting Port Louis, having a wander around Chinatown and visiting hidden gems which standard tours don’t go to or tell you about. Jai Raj didn’t rush us at all and made sure we visited everything he promised we would, even if it meant that the tour went beyond the hours that we booked it for. My visit genuinely wouldn’t have been the same or as enjoyable if I went with another tour operator and I am so happy and grateful that I stumbled across them.

Jai Raj with Mauritius Adventours tailor makes the tour for you according to your interests and he took us to places we never knew existed because they are not “advertised” that meant we were the only ones there. We also went to waterfalls that you can actually swim in, jump from the top if you are that adventurous 🙀 We regrettably only got to know about Jai Raj at the end of our vacation.

Mauritius Adventours: A Must-Do North Island Tour!
The tour offered a wonderful balance of cultural and natural sights, from vibrant local markets and serene temples to snorkeling with turtles and uncovering a hidden waterfall. The itinerary truly highlighted the best of the island's northern gems. If you're looking to explore Mauritius but not the usual tourist hotspots. Then we recommend contacting Mauritius Adventours We saw and did so much, thanks to a well thought out itinerary. We got to see a lot of the island on the journey to the destinations too. Jenny was a fabulous guide & host who was very attentive to us and made sure we were safe on the hikes to the locations. She was keen to capture some stunning pictures for us, which was perfect as its probably the only holiday where we have photos - other than a selfie - with us both in the pictures!! We had some silly poses too and had so much fun doing them!

If you want something special on your vacation book “ the northbound tour with Mauritius Adventours. We couldn’t be more happy! They take care of you and really want you to experience the real Mauritius . We visited the church were I was able to lighten a candle,we did snorkel and meet turtles . Port Lois is a bit touristy but we loved the central market tour! We definitely recommend Jay and Jenny with Mauritius Adventours!
